Maximize the benefits of your new fitness program by combining it with healthier eating habits.

Food Diary
Before making any changes to your diet, you must first become aware of what and how much your body is consuming. Maintain an accurate food diary for a minimum of three days. You will get a better picture of your current eating habits if you track your food and beverage intake for one week; two weeks is even better. Once you have a complete diary look at the following:

  • Average caloric intake per day.
  • % Saturated fats consumed versus mono- or poly- unsaturated fats.
  • Sugar consumption (esp. caffeinated beverages). 
  • Processed foods; what percentage of your diet is comprised of nutrient-lacking foods (empty calories)?
